It has been found that children with healthy mouths do better in school and are more successful later in life than children with cavities and other dental problems. Health Promotion Specialists is a resource to assist parents in getting their children’s mouths healthy and keeping them healthy.

Preventive services are provided at the school.

• Allows more time in the classroom for studies.
• Parents/Caregivers do not have to take the time off from work.
• Transportation is not an issue.
• Referrals for additional treatment needs are made to local pediatricians, speech therapists, nurse practitioners, dentists, and other health care providers.

The HPS Dental Prevention Program can come to your school at no charge to the school or school district. Contact your school principal, school board members and superintendent and express your interest in having HPS serve your school(s).
